Leaders inherit specific personality traits, which enable them to be effective. Leaders possess intelligence, self confidence, assertion, good looks and a dominating personality. This means leaders would be an effective leader irrespective of the situation. No conclusive evidence to support this trait theory. The theory does not take into account how leaders emerge, the situation or the type of group being lead.
