A trustworthy and honest leader demonstrates that they appreciate integrity. This establishes the tone for the entire company and fosters an atmosphere where the workers feel at ease pointing out unethical behavior so they may take appropriate action.

A good leader has the ability to adapt to changing situations. In this respect a leader should be willing to accommodate the views of others.

By identifying โwhat can beโ and managing goals on how to get there, a good leader can implement effective change and progress.

This increases commitment to team goals and has the effect that employees are more comfortable with change.

A leader should have the ability to think logically, analyze accurately, and interpret problems clearly.

What is an โAutocraticโ leader?
The leader has the absolute authority on all matter, deciding what to do despite what other may think. This type of leader often survive by issuing threats and instilling fear in workers.
What are some advantages of an autocratic leader?
- Ensures faster decision making (leader makes all the decisions)
- Supervises workers closely
- In times of rapid change or crises, decisive action might be needed to limit damage in the business
What are some disadvantages of an autocratic leader?
- Employees input and innovation is discouraged
- Decrease in employee morale
What is a โDemocratic/Participativeโ leader?
This leader will consult with those likely to be affected or involved before making a decision. A democratic leader asks for input and considers feedback from their team before making a decision. This leadership style is often known for fostering higher levels of employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
