- decisions are made by group consultation
- seeks opinion of group before making decisions
- continues to work effectively when coach is not present
DEFINE PERSON OEINTATED LEADERSHIP
- Concerned with interpersonal relationships
WHAT IS THE LAISSEX FAIR STYLE OF LEADERSHIP
- leader does very little and leaves the group to it
- less motivated players will stop working when theyre left alone
A MOST FAVOURABLE SITUATION IS WHEN…
- the leader has respect
- there is good support within the group
- the group is of high ability
- their are high levels of motivation
- the task is clear to the team
- there is harmony between leader and group
A LEAST FAVOURABLE SITUATION IS WHEN
- May be hostility between group members
- there is little respect for the leader
- the group has low ability
- the group members do not support each other
- motivation is low
- the task is unclear
- the leader is weak
A MODERATELY FAVOURABLE SITUATION IS WHEN
- there is a need or preference for consultation within the group
- motivation is moderate
- there is limited support
- the group has reasonable ability

- PERSON-ORIENTATED STYLE
EXPLAIN CHALLADURAIS MULTI DIMENSIONAL MODEL OF LEADERSHIP
- must use interactive approach to balance aspects of situation and the leader and group
- the more the leader used a style that matched the requirement then more satisfaction would be gained from the performance
- once the three influences on leader behaviour have been assesed the leader can choose how to behave
- required behaviour- what the situation demands
- actual behaviour- what the leader decides to do
- preffered behaviour- what the group wants
