Tell me about a time where you were the resident expert. Did people trust you?
Whilst working at ATP Science, I was lovingly referred to as “the Nerd”. As such when it came to researching consumer, competitor and industry data; I was the go-to source of truth.
I lived up to my image and developed trust from my colleagues by regularly researching third party documents and owned analytics channels to provide as much information as possible about a given subject.
One incident that sticks in my mind was when I researched the benefit of using the plant-based over vegan in product names. providing a succinct but well-referenced report to C-Level stakeholders; I showed that we needed to change from Vegan to Plant-based, as that would likely aid in sales lift.
As a result, my information was trusted by C-Level staff. They began to phase out the vegan amino product and are looking to bring in a new plant-based protein to supplement the loss of that product.
