laws of gravity Flashcards
Force
A push or pull on an object in order to change the motion of the object.
Motion
A change in position overtime.
Netforce
The combination of all forces acting on an object.
speed
Distance traveled per rate of time. Speed=distance
velocity
The speed of distance overtime
Acceleration
the rate at which velocity changes overtime.
Newton’s first law
An object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion unless inturupted by an outside source.
Newtons second law
force= mass x acceleration
Newtons third law
for every action the is an equal but opposite reaction.
inertia
the tendecy of an object to resist being moved or the object is moving to resist a change in speed or direction until an outside force acts on the object
friction
the force that resist motion
Mass
the amount of matter in an object
Gravity
an attractive force that exists between all objects that have mass.
