What are the two types of prescribers and what is the difference between them?
Independant - practitioner is responsible for assessment of patients with undiagnosed and diagnosed conditions and prescribes medicines according to their judgment
Supplementary - practioner who prescribes within an agreed patiet specific written clinical management plan (CMP)
What are the legal requirements of a prescription for a POMs?
- signed by prescriber
- name and address of prescriber
- date issued
- name and address of patient
- age (if under 12)
- particulars of prescriber
What are the legal requirements of prescription for CDs?
- signature of prescriber
