A match is played with how many teams and how many players?

A

2 teams each with a maximum of 11 players, one must be a goalkeeper. A match may not start or continue if either team has less than 7 players.

What happens if a team has less than 7 players during play? eg. A player or more leave the field of play whilst the ball is in play.

A

The referee does not have to stop play and the advantage may be played but the match may not continue after the ball had gone out if a team has fewer than 7 players.

A

The referee must be informed, the player being substituted receives the referee’s permission to leave, unless already off the flied of play. Then must go straight to the technical are or dressing room.

A

During a stoppage of play, at the halfway line, after being replaced has left and after receiving a signal from the referee.

How should the referee deal with a team official, sent off player or substitute that enters the field of play?

A

He allows play to continue if they do not interfere. Has the person removed from the field when play stops and takes appropriate disciplinary action. If they do interfere with play, it is restarted as a direct free kick or penalty kick if in the penalty area.

A

He stops play (not immediately if a advantage can be played or no interference). He cautions the player.

A

A direct free kick or penalty from the position of where they interfered. If they did not interfere a indirect free kick is taken from where play stopped.
