What is the definition of a holding procedure?
A predetermined manoeuvre which keeps an a/c within a specified airspace while awaiting further clearance.
Located to ensure A/c remains clear of ground and obstructions

ACC controllers use due congestion

What is a holding fix
Over a point source nav aid (NDB/VOT etc) or an intersection of VOR radials or a VOR/DME position
What is a holding axis?
The required inbound track to the holding fix
What rate of turn do a/c use In a holding pattern
Rate 1 (3 degrees per second) or 25 degrees of bank.
Which ever requires least angel of bank
What are the holding speed limits for a/c at up to and including 14000ft?
Cat a/b 170kts normal or turbulent
Cat c/d/e 230kts normal or turbulent
