Kinetic Energy
Refers to Motion
1. The particles in Gas are always constant.
2. The combined volume of the particles are negligible
3. The particles exert no force on each other
4. Collision is completely elastic
5. The avg kinetic energy is proportionate to kelvin
Gas particles and how they work
The atoms in a Gas are far apart
Their is empty space between particles
No attractive or repulsive forces exist between particles
Areas of HIgh Pressure to Low Pressure because air tries to eqaulize therefore the high pressure goes to low to balance it out
Elastic Collision
All particles within a Gas are perfectly elastic
During an elastic Collision kinetic energy is transferred without loss.
WHen a kinetic energy transfers from one particle to another without any loss.
Gas Pressure
Result from billions of rapidly moving particles in a Gas simultaneously colliding with an object.
Vaccum
An empty space with no pressure and no particles
Atmospheric Pressure
The collision of atoms and molecules in the air
Barometer
A device used to measure atmospheric pressure
Absolute 0
The temp at which motion completely ceases to move (theoretically of course.)
Motion of Gas
Gas move in random motions. Particles move rapidly frequently colliding with each other
