What is aphasia?
A
It is the disturbance in the formulation and comprehension of language due to damage to certain parts of the brain.

What is wernicke’s aphasia?
A
Causes poor comprehension but fluent. Excess words. paraphasia and neologisms.

What is broca’s aphasia?
A
Lesion = Prefrontal cortex.
Simple elements, swearing, mutism.

What is subcortical aphasia?
A
Lesion = caudate nucleus
Fluent but extensive neologisms.
Dyskinesia and dysarthria.
