As Well As
As well as has the same meaning and use as and. However, it cannot join two sentences together or join more than two words or phrases together.
We should go to a movie as well as have dinner.
I ate lobster as well as steak.
Also and Too
Use also and too to add a second idea. Also can be used in many places, but not between the verb and object. Too is almost always placed at the end of the sentence.
First idea: He likes to swim.
He likes to play tennis also.
He also likes to play tennis.
Also, he likes to play tennis.
He likes to play tennis too.
In Addition and Furthermore
In addition and furthermore have the same meaning as also and too, but they are more formal. They usually come at the beginning of a sentence and are separated from the rest of the sentence by a comma.
First idea: The company needs to purchase more office space.
In addition, the company needs to hire more employees.
Furthermore, the company needs to hire more employees.
