the sun it is what you draw- what does the sun do? It divides day and night so you divide it- if you want to show it in lines you would draw a square and divide with line in middle- so when you look at this character the first picture that comes is the sun below- so you will think with light brightness- this is how pictograms and ideograms have come into play
