Suprasternal notch
Superior surface of the manubrium of the sternum, between the medial portion of the right and left clavicle in the midline.
Sternal angle
Is formed by the junction of the manubrium with the body of sternum at the level of the second costal cartilage, in the midline.
Xiphisternum
The inferior portion of sternum, in the midline.
Sternoclavicular joint
The joint formed by the manubrium sterni and the first costal cartilage articulating with the manubrium and the clavicle.
Acromioclavicular joint
Is formed by the articulation of the lateral end of the clavicle and the acromion process of the scapula (shoulder blade).
Lower costal margin
The lowest point of the rib cage
Iliac crest
The superior border of the ilium (highest point of the pelvis), in the coronal plane.
Anterior superior iliac spine
Anterior point of the iliac crest
Posterior superior iliac spine
Posterior point of the iliac crest.
Symphysis Pubis
Is the joint between two pubic bones with a pad of fibro cartilage.
Greater trochanter
Is the lateral prominence of the femur in the coronal plane.
