Landing Gear Flashcards
What holds the gear in the up position on the CRJ 200
Mechanical Up Locks
What locks the gear down on the CRJ 200
Locking mechanism in the main landing gear side strut actuators.
What locks the gear down on the CRJ 700 / 900
Locking mechanisms in the main landing gear side stays
What holds the gear in the up position on the CRJ 700 / 900
Mechanical Up Locks just as in the CRJ 200
Same for all 3 variants
What holds the Nose Gear in the up position on the CRJ 700 / 900
Held up by an over center mechanism, this same mechanism also holds the nose gear in the down and locked position.
What holds the Nose Gear in the down and locked position on the CRJ 700 / 900
The same over center mechanism that holds the gear in the up and locked position.
What holds the nose gear in the up and locked position on the CRJ 200
The nose gear is held up by a mechanical up lock
What holds the nose gear in the down and locked position on the CRJ 200
An over center locking mechanism.
What stops the nose wheels from rotation when retracted on the CRJ 700 / 900
Brake Straps
What is the can on the CRJ 700 / 900 main landing gear?
A shimmy damper
What does the Red Handle Manual Release handle do when pulled on the CRJ 200
Mechanically releases the main landing gear and nose landing gear up locks as well as the nose gear forward door up lock
How does Hydraulic System 2 interact with the landing gear system
Hydraulic System 2 assists the extension of the main landing gear in the down and locked position by powering the main landing gear auxiliary actuators.
What does the Red Handle Manual Gear Release handle do when pulled on the CRJ 700 / 900
It is similar to the CRJ 200 except the nose gear is released when hydraulic system 2 pressure is directed to the nose landing gear manual release actuator.
If you lose Hydraulic System 2 do you still have brakes?
Yes…. but only 50%
If you lose Hydraulic System 2 and 3 do you still have breakes?
Yes… but only for 6 applications with the anti skid off due to the hydraulic accumulators.
