What does the OFF position on the landing gear lever do?
It removes the hydraulic pressure from the landing gear system.
Up to how many degrees can the nose wheel steer with the use of the tiller?
65° either direction.
Up to how many degrees does the rudder pedals turn the nose wheel?
7° in either direction.
Above which speed will the RTO activate when thrust levers are moved to idle?
85kts
How is the air/ground logic sensed?
From the tilt sensors in each main gear and from the strut compression sensors of the nose gear.
How are the main gears held up?
By resting on the door structures.
How is the nose gear held up?
By unlocks.
How does the landing gear lowers in the alternat extension mode?
When selecting gear DN on Alternate Extension mode, all doors and gear uplocks are released by an electric motor to allow the gear to free-fall to the down and locked position.
Why do the DOORS lights remain illuminated and the EICAS advisory message GEAR DOORS display when using Alternate Extension mode?
Because all the hydraulically powered gear doors remain open.
