Fuel Flashcards
How many tanks does the B767 have?
3 (L, R and C)
What indications do you have on the fuel quantity indicator?
- Fuel totalizer
- Individual tank quantity indication
- Fuel temperature indication
What is the purpose of the 2 surge tanks located at each wing tip ?
To provide overfill containment and vent components.
Where is the fuel from the surge tanks drained into?
The center tank.
How are the tanks fuel pumps powered?
AC powered
What does the crossfeed system do?
Connects the left fuel manifold with the right fuel manifold.
What does the FUEL CONFIG light means?
- Fuel quantity in either main tank has dropped to approx 1000kg
- An imbalance between the main tanks > 900kg
- There is usable fuel in the center tank with the center tank fuel pumps OFF
Where is the fuel temperature sensed?
In the left main tank.
From which tank(s) is the fuel dumped when using the fuel jettisoning system?
The center auxiliary tank.
How many AC-powered fuel pumps are fitted into each tank?
2
How is the fuel burn in the center tank first achieved?
Center tank fuel pumps have a greater output pressure than the left and right main tank fuel pumps.
Why are the center fuel tank pumps inhibited (PRESS light) when N2 RPM is less than 50%?
For load shedding
In case of both tank fuel pumps pressure is low, how is the associated engine fed?
By a suction feed line bypassing the pumps.
What is the maximum fuel capacity (all tanks full) ?
Approx 72T
What is each tank capacity?
Left: Approx. 18T
Right: Approx. 18T
Center: Approx. 36T
Total: Approx. 36T + 36T = 72T
