What is a Ria?
A
formed when river valley are partially submerged.
Gentle long/cross profile.
Wide and deep at mouth, narrower and shallower further inland.

A
Drowned glacial valleys rather than drowned river valleys.
Relatively straight and narrow with very deepsides.
Shallow mouth caused by a raised bit of ground (threshold) formed by deposition of material by the glacier.
Very deep further inland.
