Land Emergencies Flashcards
What are the cabin crew actions in the alert phase?
Unfasten harness and move to designated exit/s whilst maintaining control of the passengers by using the command “Remain Seated”.
- Assess internal and external conditions and be ready to act immediately in response to any further PA.
- Communicate non-normal conditions to the Flight Deck
–Cabin Crew must communicate (by interphone) any escalating or life-threatening situations to the Flight Crew as soon as possible. Only one communication attempt should
be made to the Flight Deck as essential Flight Deck duties may preclude the call.
- Control Cabin – keep passengers seated and calm.
- Await Flight Crew Instructions – The Flight Crew’s assessment of the situation may take time and an evacuation may not always be necessary.
What actions must crew carry out once a precautionary disembarkation has been completed?
Once all passengers have disembarked, Cabin Crew are to check the aircraft and communicate areas cleared to Flight Crew prior to disembarking the aircraft.
- Assist passengers away from aircraft.
- Marshall passengers to a safe location clear of active runway or taxiway (grassed area, perimeter fence or adjacent terminal building).
- Determine Persons Onboard (POB) and conduct head count.
- Strictly enforce no smoking and mobile phones to remain switched off.
