Q

What are the cabin crew actions in the alert phase?

A

Unfasten harness and move to designated exit/s whilst maintaining control of the passengers by using the command “Remain Seated”.

  • Assess internal and external conditions and be ready to act immediately in response to any further PA.
  • Communicate non-normal conditions to the Flight Deck

–Cabin Crew must communicate (by interphone) any escalating or life-threatening situations to the Flight Crew as soon as possible. Only one communication attempt should
be made to the Flight Deck as essential Flight Deck duties may preclude the call.

  • Control Cabin – keep passengers seated and calm.
  • Await Flight Crew Instructions – The Flight Crew’s assessment of the situation may take time and an evacuation may not always be necessary.
