What do flight crew have to say to cabin crew when using their oxygen masks?
We are on oxygen.

1. Pull the mask down from its stowed position
2. Place the mask over the head, at the same time covering the wearer’s face with the mask
3. Select the microphone switch on the Crew member’s audio panel to MASK
4. Check that crew communication is possible
5. If smoke goggles are required they must be fitted over the mask frame.
Note: ‘On demand’ oxygen flow is controlled by a regulator on the mask Assembly

• As an aid while fighting fires in flight
• To deal with physical obstructions in the event of a crash: e.g. to chop/clear jammed doors or windows, broken seats or other obstructions to allow exit
• As a basic survival aid in a remote area. Use to chop wood for fires and shelter, dig for roots, cut vines, etc.
