Voltage-gated Na+ channels –> selectively binds to inactivated state of channel
Inhibitor
Blocks repetitive firing of neurones by delaying membrane recovery
Stabilises presynaptic neuronal membrane
Suppresses release of excitatory AA glutamate –> key role in generation of seizures
