Hot and cold mixture of water, soil, and rock fragments that flow down slopes of a volcano.

Contain many dark angular rock fragments.
They are not always originally from volcanoes.

A
- During an Eruption: melting of snow and ice by pyroclastic flows.
- After Eruption: heavy rainfall which mobilizes freshly deposited material.
- Without Eruption: Sudden landslides, earthquakes
