what is the learning acquisition device?

what are the criticisms?
-not much physical evidence

what are the stages?
pre-linguistic(0-12 months)
holophase(12-18 months)
telegraphic(18-24 months)
fully developed(2+ yrs)
what happens in pre-linguistic(0-12 m)
-babies babble and cry to communicate
-phonemes - “ba”
-echolalia - repetition “bababa”
what happens in holophase(12-18 m)
-single words to represent sentences
what happens in telegraphic(18-24 m)
- 2-3 words to string simple sentenses
-over regularisation
-overextension
what is overextension?
referring as objects as other things eg, sweetcorn=yellow peas
what is over regularisation?
errors with words and tenses eg “i signed”
