Bed Board
a board that is placed under a mattress to give added support to a patient with back problems.
Fan Fold
a specific way of folding sheets on a bed so they can be pulled properly into place without having to flip them and stir up dust.
foot drop
an abnormal neuromuscular condition of the lower leg and foot characterized by an inability to dorsiflex, or evert, the foot, caused by damageto the common peroneal nerve.
Mitered corner
An oblique surface formed on the sheets of a bed when making it.
Toe Pleat
A pleat placed in the sheets at the end of the bed, allowing for room of the feet to aid in preventing foot drop.
Occupied Bed
A bed that a patiend is assigned to in a hospital or assisted living type setting.
Closed Bed
A bed that is made and ready to accept a client, but has yet to be assigned to one.
Bedpan
a vessel made of metal or plastic, used to collect feces and urine of bedridden patients.
Expctorate
mucus and other exudates in the lining of the lungs, bronchi and trachea.
Musinex
Anoxia
Lack of oxygen
Cannula
Tubing that aids in the distribution of oxygen to apatient.
