•Atrial natriuretic peptide: 28-aa peptide found in the atrium of the heart. B-type natriuretic peptide: 32-aa peptide found mainly in the ventricles of the heart. C-type natriuretic peptide: 53- and 22-aa peptides found in the endothelium

What cuases elevated BNP
A
BNP is Released in response to stretch, ↑ volume in the ventricle. Levels correlate with Left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification, Objective heart failure diagnosis in patients 55 or older. BNP is higher in women, elderly and renal insufficiency
