Lab exam #4 Flashcards
Why the color of urine is yellow?
The color of urine is yellow because of urochrome, which is a pigment that results from the body’s destruction of hemoglobin. Water consumption throughout the day plays a role in the type of color the urine is. If a person drinks less water then his/her urine will be dark yellow. Medication such as diuretic gets rid of excess water in body which can give urine a more pale-ish color.
Why urine is turbid?
Turbid urine means that a person might have certain conditions such as sexually transmitted disease, dehydration or urinary tract infection.
