60
Q

Where do you find skeletal muscle? Describe fibers.

A

Found in: Attached to bones and skin. Description: Large, multinucleated, cylindrical cells with striation.

61
Q

Where do you find cardiac muscle? Describe fibers.

A

Found in: wall of heart. Description: smaller, branching cells, with one or two centrally located nuclei per cell. Exhibit striations , and have intercalated discs (dark bands where cardiac muscle cells connect end to end).

62
Q

Where do you find smooth muscle? Describe fibers.

A

Found in:

  • Walls of digestive tract organs
  • walls of arteries and veins
  • walls of ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra
  • intrinsic muscles of eye

Description: small, spindle-shaped (tapered at both ends) cells that are uninucleated and nonstriated.
