Lab: Blood Flashcards
What are the components of blood?
Cells and fragments
- RBC
- Platelets
- Leukocytes
Plasma
- serum
- clotting factors
What are the components of connective tissue?
Cells, fibers, and ground substance
What are reticulocytes?
Immature erythrocytes, spherical in shape, contains nucleus
What are the names of the leukocytes?
Monocyte (10%), Lymphocyte (25%), Neutrophil (60%), Eosinophil (3%), Basophil (1%)
Granulomere
The central, basophilic region of a platelet that contains granules and organelles. The granules may release clotting factors or fibrinolysin
Hyalomere
The pale, peripheral region of a platelet that doesn’t contain granules. The hyalomere contains actin and myosin molecules that help maintain the platelet’s shape and movement.
