Lumbricals (in palm)
Origin: tendons of flexor Digitorum profundus (anterior side)
Insertion: expansions of extensor digitorum (posterior side)
Innervation: median nerve and ulnar nerve
Main actions: flexion at the metacarpophalangeal joint while also extending the interphalangeal joints (hand writing position)
Dorsal Interossei (hand)
Origin: 2 metacarpals- 1st and 2nd metacarpals
Insertion: base of respective proximal phalanx
Innervation: branch of ulnar nerve
Main action: abduction of digits 2-4
Palmar Interossei (palm)
Origin: palmar surfaces of metacarpals 2, 4 and 5
Insertion: extensor expansion of the same digit (anterior —> posterior)
Innervation: branch of ulnar nerve
Main actions: adduction of digits 2, 4 and 5
