Lab 3: Self - Exercise Flashcards
What are the differences among aponeuroses, tendons, and ligaments?
aponeuroses: broad, tendinous sheet that serves origin and insertion of a skeletal muscle
tendon: attach muscle to bone (cartilage to skin, or muscle)
ligament: connects bone to bone
Examples of uniarticulate muscle
deltoid, supinator, pronator
Examples of biarticulate muscle
sartorius, long head biceps femoris, semimembranosus, semitendinosus
Examples of multiarticulate muscle
flexor digitorum, rectus femoris
Examples of biceps muscles
biceps brachii long head, biceps short head, brachioradialis
Examples of triceps muscle
triceps brachii lateral head, triceps brachii long head, triceps brachii medial head
Examples of quadriceps muscle
adductor magnus, adductor longus, adductor brevis, gracilis
Identify and list the functions of each of the 4 rotator-cuff muscles
- subscapularis: medial rotation at the shoulder
- supraspinatus: adduction at the shoulder
- infraspinatus: lateral rotation at the shoulder
- teres minor: lateral rotation and adduction at the shoulder
