Unoccupied bed making steps

A
  • separate all sheet
  • nicely bundle individually
  • fitted sheet on
  • nylon sheet goes face down over heaviest part of the body (trunk)
  • top sheets on (open sides to the top and facing the middle, drape top fold down, second top fold down the other side)
  • sweet back end in
  • form triangle in corners
  • invert new pillowcase and slide on while the other comes off

2 step process on taking BP

A

Step 1
- find brachial pulse, align cuff with artery
- estimating when systolic pressure will be
- inflate cuff while reading radial pulse, when pulse stops, remember this number and pump 30 above it for step 2

Step 2
- inflate cuff with stethoscope on brachial artery
- inflate 30 above previously mentioned mark
- slowly release valve
- first sound - systolic pressure
- first absence of sound - diastolic pressure

A

- no stethoscope
- taking radial pulse
- only looking for systolic (when radial pulse stops)

- stethoscope
- not taking radial pulse
- looking for both systolic and diastolic
