Definition of body politic:

- a people considered as a collective unit

- it is also techniques of managing populations through discipline and punishment

-strict gender-divided culture in Choson society created opportunities for expanding a women’s public sphere, both for missionary women and for Korean women
What does “social gospel” do to the missionary women?
- create opportunities: that Korean women’s lives are elevated
- rehabilitate life traditions and give the message of improving people’s health and etc.
