- Antimuscaranic drugs: oxybutynine, flavoxate, propiverine, propanthodine, tolterodine and trospium
(The inhibit the action of the detrusor muscle which increases the capacity of the UB) - Tricyclic antidepressants: imipramine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline
- Estrogen; either applied directly to the vagina or taken by mouth

what are the drugs that are used to treat hypotonic bladder and urine retention due to UML?

- Parasympathomimetics:
A. Choline esters: bethanechol, carbachol
B. Anticholinesterases: distigmine
(They stimulate the detruser muscle when the bladder is hypotonic)
- Intermittent catheterization is also needed when the hypotonia is chronic
