  2. Tricyclic antidepressants: imipramine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline
  3. Estrogen; either applied directly to the vagina or taken by mouth

what are the drugs that are used to treat hypotonic bladder and urine retention due to UML?

  1. Parasympathomimetics:
    A. Choline esters: bethanechol, carbachol
    B. Anticholinesterases: distigmine

(They stimulate the detruser muscle when the bladder is hypotonic)

  1. Intermittent catheterization is also needed when the hypotonia is chronic
