L30: Framework for Technology Selection and Evaluation Flashcards
What does the Task analysis frame work look like?
What are the 2 technologies available?
- In the market
- In workplace
- what can/cannot be used
- technical support available
What are the 2 locations of intervention?
- In-home
- Other centre
- Community centre; regional /remote hospital (has equipment but might not have physio); tertiary hospital (second option)
What is task analysis?
tasks to be undertaken in session
What are the 3 features of task analysis?
- Type of client-clinician interaction
- Synchronous
- Asynchronous
- Stimuli needed
- Responses required from client
What is a reason to need to consider all task possible over course of intervention?
Easier to determine for well-defined treatment protocols
What are 2 characteristics of being as widely inclusive as possible when selecting technology?
- Consider both assessment and treatment session tasks & in-home practice tasks
- How do you want to monitor in-home practice & progress over time
What are the 5 basic steps for task analysis?
STEP 1:
- Create task analysis table
STEP 2:
- List all possible tasks- Examples of different tasks: Observation Palpation ROM
STEP 3:
- For each task indicate:
- Type of interaction with client – real-time VC, email etc
- Stimuli to be used – text, images etc
- Need to see them doing or can see a photo of themgo from lost cost and invasiveness to highest cost and invasiveness (simple to most complex)
- Client response required
STEP 4:
- Determine technical functionality required for each task
- Audio recording for feedback, whiteboard interaction to display images, text, or drawing, & video demonstrations
STEP 5:
- Match technology requirements against clinically available technology
What is step 1 in task analysis?
Create task analysis table
What is step 2 in task analysis?
List all possible tasks Examples of different tasks: Observation Palpation ROM
What is step 3 in task analysis?
For each task indicate:
- Type of interaction with client – real-time VC, email etc-
- Stimuli to be used – text, images etc
- Need to see them doing or can see a photo of them )go from lost cost and invasiveness to highest cost and invasiveness (simple to most complex)
- Client response required
What is step 4 in task analysis?
- Determine technical functionality required for each task
- Audio recording for feedback, whiteboard interaction to display images, text, or drawing, & video demonstrations
What are 7 key assessments that need to be performed face to face?
- Lack and lag
- Muscle strength/ROM
- Gait
- Swelling
- Observation and palpation
- Wound
- DVT (calf) ○ Stretch calf (forced dorsiflexion) Palpation (clotting)
What are the key aims of treatment?
- Gait quality with mobility aid
- Education
- Gait
- Pain
- Management of swelling
- ROM exercises
- Stairs Progression of exercises (quite quickly)
- ROM and strength = important
- Change in walking aids
What is an example of TKR?
