Give an example of Authentication

A

Passports, some have a microchip which is a new biometric product. It stores the users photograph and personal information. This improves the security at airports.

Q

Why is it better to use Biometrics?

A

It is more secure and cannot be forgotten unless the person changes their facial features. This is very hard to hack as everyone is very unique.

Q

Give an example of Encryption

A

An example is Single Key Encryption which is when:

  • one person writes a message and uses the key to encrypt it.
  • they send the encrypted message to the person they want to read it
  • the person who has received the message will then use their own key to decrypt the message and read it so it can be understood easily
