They are useful because storage ,software,peripherals and processing power can be shared
what is a server
a server is a very powerful computer that provides programs and storage space
what are LANs
LANs are local area networks that are close together.they are usually connected by cables
what are WANs
WANs connect computers over long distances
what is the main advantage of a network
the main advantage of a network is that is resources are shared which reduces costs

it’S a network interface card
what is a wireless network card
it is similar to the NIC but it was a transmitter to send messages
What are hubs
Hubs are used to connect multiple computers together on a network
What are Ethernet cables
An Ethernet cable connects each computer’s network cards to the hub.
What are switches?
Switches connect multiple computers together on a network. Switches are more intelligent than hubs but also more expensive.
What do switches do?
The switch reads incoming data and locates the computers that need it, it then sends it.
What are routers?
Routers are connection devices that work at a network level, whereas hubs work at a device level.
What is the point of routers?
Routers allow one or more LANs to connect to a WAN. The router joins networks.
What is a peer to peer network?
All data and programs are stored on individual networks, so if something is sent, it goes to the computer and if it needs to reply it will do so.
