L1: User-Centered Bootcamp Flashcards
What is Empathetic Design?
Trying to make users seem more real to the team.
It is a user-centered design approach that pays attention to the user’s feelings toward a product.
Why is Empathetic Design needed?
Its goal is to identify the customer needs in order to create products that the customers don’t even know they desire. This process also allows designers to focus on observing the users as opposed to traditional market research.
What are the five key steps in empathic design?
- Observation
- Capturing Data
- Reflection and Analysis
- Brainstorming for solutions
- Developing prototypes of possible solutions
A common problem in design and development processes is…
Lack of direct access to users
If you want to improve product quality and only adjust the testing process…
You waste development effort
