Q

Is it permissible for the telescope dust cover to be missing from the leading edge of the wing on the CRJ 700/900?

A

Yes; SkyWest has been given an Engineering Authorization permitting the operation of the aircraft without the plate.

SOPM Pg. 122

17
Q

On a FFOD are you required to verify security seals on the MCD, galley service door, and cargo door(s) match the security log?

A

Yes, but the ground station will typically perform the security inspection.

18
Q

What actions are required if a security seal is verified to be missing?

A
  1. Verify the seal was broken by authorized personnel.
  2. Verify authorized representative broke the seal and unauthorized access has been prevented OR a full aircraft search is required.

(If just cargo seal was broken, only the cargo area must be inspected)

19
Q

When is the cold weather preflight inspection required?

A
  1. The OAT is <=5*C
  2. Atmospheric conditions conductive to icing exist.
  3. The aircraft has remained overnight and may have been subject to contamination.
  4. A through flight and residual ice from the inbound leg may have accumulated.
  5. The wing fuel temperature is <=0*C.
20
Q

How is the cold weather preflight inspection conducted?

A
  1. A visual and tactile inspection of the aircrafts critical surfaces.
    - Run hand over wing leading edge to feel for frost.
