1. Ideal tree species - Tulip poplar, basswood, cedar, willow, elm, mulberry
2. Strip bark from dead branches, especially want inner bark.
3. Place bark strips under water for several days
4. Check the fibers every day until they seperate from the outer bark in ribbons.
5. Twist the fibers into cord while wet or after drying.
