4
Q
Less common causes of anterior knee pain
A
- synovial pilca (synovial fold found along the superior medial edge of patella)
- pre-patellar bursitis ( most common bursitis around knee - tx: NSAIDs, servere = aspiration )
- quadriceps tendinopathy ( pain at quadriceps tendon attachment)
- infrapetellar bursae
- patellofemoral instability
5
Q
Clinical PFP syndrome
A
- Swelling: small effusion possible
- Clinks/ clunks: occasionally
- Crepitus: occasionally under patella
- ROM - decrease if severe
- PFJ movement: restricted in any direction ( common restriction of medial glide to lateral structures)
6
Q
Iliotibial band Syndrome clinical
A
- tenderness over the LFE 2-3cm above the lateral joint line
- Crepitus
- swelling
- repetitive flexion and extension may aggregate the patients pain
- positive sober test
