Knee Pathological Gait Flashcards

1
Q

Reasons for Knee Pathology

A

Muscle weakness- Quads
Pain and Swelling inhibit quads (arthogenic or neuro)
Flexion Contract- 15-30 deg usually; pressure lowest 15-60 flex, contract >15=increased quad force

Excessive Knee FLexion
CAUSE

Preswing-Initial Swing

A

Comp to assist in foot clearance from incrsd PF

Abnormal motor control (flexor pattern); shows as huge amount of foot clearance
