what are the Ottawa knee rules
- > 55
- Tender patella or fibular head
- unable to flex to 90
- unable to take 4 steps
What are the 2 fxs of the distal femur
- supracondylar- Transverse or oblique
2. femoral condylar- T or Y shape, Always intraarticular
What is a bumper fx and what measurement can suggest one
- Axial loading
- 80% of time will just be lat platue only
Tibiofemoral alignment- if plateu extends more than 5mm it is suggestive
What is the FBI sign and what is it suggestive of
Area prox to patella has lipohemarthrosis
-suggestive of intraarticular fx
Segond fx + MOI + Ass. inj.
-avulsion of lat tib plates @ ITB attachment
from int rot + vargus
-ass w acl tear
Tibial spine fx
-ACL avulsion from rapid deceleration or hyper ext

-Ossification of MCL

fx thru both, transverse on one side and oblque on other`
what are the types of malleolar fxs
Medial
Lateral
Bimaleolar
Trimaleolar (includes post process of lip of tibia)
Maisonneuves fx + MOI
Prox fibular shaft fx w rupture of distal syndesmosis due to inversion
Potts fx
fib fx 6-7cm above lat malleolus
Todlers fx + MOI
Undisplaced spiril fx of tibia (9m-3y)
- fall or foot caught bw crib slats
Calcaneous compression fx and what suggests it
- commuted w associaion w tendon rupture
- Bhoelers angle- <28 (draw along 3 point on top of calcaneous)
Lisfranc presentation
- Seperation @ tarso-metatarsal jas
- 2nd metatarsal moves lat
