Congenital anomalies upper Flashcards
When does the humeral head, greater tiber, lesser tuber and accromion appear by
hum head- 6m
Greater tub- 3yoa
Lesser tub- 5yoa
Acromion- 15-18yoa
rhomboid fossa
- well marginated indentation on interomedial clavicle
no clinical sig
Prominent corotid tubercle of clavicle
Normal tubercle on the inf aspect of the clavicle becomes enlarged and protrudes down
Os acromiale (how common )
Unfused end of acromion
-8% of pop, 60% bilateral
How does a supracondylar process tipically present
typically directed downwards pointing toward the jt.
when does the capitulum, radial, int epicondyle, olecranon, lat epicondyle ossify
cap- 1yoa radial- 5yoa Int epi- 7yoa Olecranon- 10yoa Lat epicondyle- 11yoa
Supratrochlear dorsale
small, chronic post traumatic osteochondral loose bodies lying within coronoid fossa
Olecranon foramen
Typically the coronoid+ olecranon fossas will be seperated ny a septum
What is madelung deformity and how will it present
Dorsal and medial bowing of distal radius due to growth resistance post trauma
-limited ROM in ext, ulnar dev
Ulnar varience pos + negative
usually ulna will line up with radius, if it is above it is pos if its below its neg
complications of neg and pos ulnar varience
Neg- AVN of lunate- ulnar impingment (Ulna hits distal radius)
Pos- Associated with wear + tear of the TFCC + ulnar impaction syndrome
Carpal boss
A painful bump on dorsum of wrist
Os styloidium
Accessory ossicle on MC base of 2nd digit
1-3%
Carpal coalition MC
Mc between lunate and triquetrum (wont see articulation bw the 2)
What carpal bone appears first and last
capitate= 1yoa
posiform= 8-12yoa
