KM 37 Flashcards
For KM37, EGS is REQUIRED for dives deeper than?
60 fsw
EGS SCUBA cylinder must have enough gas to bring diver to…what?
first decamp stop OR
surface on a No-D dive
What is the minimum pressure for EGS first stage regulator?
135 PSIG over bottom
What is the pressure relief valve set for on the EGS first stage?
180 +/- 5 PSIG
prevents hose rupture if first stage regulator fails
umbilical assembly cannot exceed ____ feet?
600 feet
What are the components of an umbilical assembly?
Gas Supply Hose 3/8” ID
Pneumofathometer Hose 1/4” ID
Strength/COMS cable
What is the only difference between the KM37 and MK20 maintenance schedules?
Must perform mission maintenence on KM37 every 24 months (vs 18 months for MK20)
What is normal working limit depth for KM37 on AIR?
What is MAX working limit?
190 fsw 285 fsw (exceptional exposure)
What is normal working limit depth for KM37 on HeO2?
What is MAX working limit?
300 fsw
380 fsw
Air supply system must be able to provide an average sustained flow of ___ to the diver?
1.4 acfm
What are the over bottom pressure requirements for the KM37?
0-60 fsw 90 min, 135 desired, 165 MAX
61-130 fsw 135 min, 135 desired, 165 MAX
131-190 fsw 165
What is the MMP equation?
bottom pressure + over bottom pressure = MMP
(fsw x 0.445) + *135 = MMP
How do you calculate required cylinder pressure for EGS?
- Calculate Vr (variable rate) assuming 1.4 acfm for descent and bottom phase, and 0.75acfm for ascent and decamp phase: Vr = (D+33)/33 x 1.4 x T for ascent or Vr = (D+33)/33 x 0.75 x T
- Convert variable rate into PSIG based on type of cylinder Floodable volume (FV): PSIG required = Vr/FV x 14.7 + Pm
*Pm is minimum cylinder pressure (135)
