KK5-7, KK13: Coordinating and Monitoring Projects Flashcards
Define ‘Project’
A Project consists a set of related tasks that need to be completed to be able to create a solution to a need or opportunity.
What characteristics does a project have?
Characteristics of a project:
- A clearly defined purpose
- A start time
- A limited timeline
- A number of tasks
What are ‘Solution Requirements’ and what are its two categories?
Solution requirements state what the client needs in the solution. Its two categories are Functional and Non-Functional requirements.
What are ‘Functional Requirements?’
Functional requirements are directly related to what the solution must do. These are the functions that the software incorporates (eg. Calculations)
What are ‘Non-Functional Requirements?’
Non-functional requirements are characteristics a client would like a solution to have, but do not affect what the solution does (eg. Available for all devices)
What are solution constraints are what are the 3 types?
Solution constraints are factors that may limit or restrict functional or non-functional requirements. The two types are:
- Economic constraints (Time & available budget)
- Technical constraints (Related to the hardware & software available)
- Non-Technical constraints (Not related to hardware & software, namely, social, legal and usability constraints)
Define ‘Scope’
The Scope of a solution outlines what the solution can and can’t do (i.e. the solution requirements that can or can’t be fulfilled).
What is a Gantt Chart?
A Gantt Chart provides a standard format for displaying project schedule information. It lists the project tasks worked out in the project table, and their corresponding start and finish dates, in a calendar format.
