What is Diffusion?
Diffusion is the movement of particles from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.
Why does the graph remain constant during melting/boiling?
During melting and boiling, the temperature remains constant although heating continues because heat energy is used to overcome the attractive forces between the particles.
Why does the graph remain constant during freezing/condensation?
During freezing and condensation, the temperature remains constant although cooling continues because heat energy is released when the attractive forces between the particles are formed.
