What is perinephric fat?
Fat between the renal capsule and fascia.
What is paranephric fat?
Fat superficial to the renal fascia.

Which organs lie in contact with the anterior surface of the left kidney?
Stomach, L suprarenal gland, pancreas, L colic flexure, descending colon, jejunum
Which organs lie in contact with the anterior surface of the right kidney?
L suprarenal gland, liver, ascending colon, R colic flexure, small intestine.
What are the important posterior relations of each kidney?
Diaphragm, psoas major, quadratus lumborum, transversus abdominus.
In which region of the kidney are renal corpuscles found?
Cortex
What is the relation of structures to each other in the hilum of the kidney from anterior to posterior?
Artery, vein, renal pelvis.
What kind of epithelium lines the ureter?
Transitional.
Where does the ureter leave the psoas muscle?
Bifurcation of the common iliac.
What are the three narrowest points of the ureters?
Pelviureteric junction. As the ureter crosses the pelvic brim. As the ureter passes through the bladder wall
What is the root of the subcostal nerve and what does it supply?
Anterior rami of T12. Supplies external oblique and and skin of anterolateral abdominal wall.
From where do the ilio-inguinal and ilio-hypogastric nerve arise? What do they supply?
Anterior ramus of L1. Supply abdominal muscles and skin of inguinal and pubic regions.
What is the origin of the femoral nerve? What does it supply?
L2-4. Supplies iliacus and extensors/flexors of hip.
