Post-Streptococcal Glomerulonephritis
Decreased Complement Levels (C3, C4)
Low C3, but usually not C4 = alt pathway
Lupus Nephritis (2)
May have decreased complement levels
Positive ANA test
Microscopic Polyangiitis
Positive P-ANCA
Amyloidosis
Positive Monoclonal Antibodies in SPEP or UPEP
Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis (2)
Hep C > Heb B antibody association
May have decreased levels of C3/C4
Pauci-immune RPGN
Positive P-ANCA
Anti-GBM Test (2)
Positive in: Goodpasture’s and Anti-GBM associated RPGN
ANA Test
Lupus Nephritis
HIV Serologies
Associated with Focal and Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS)
Endocarditis-associated GN
May have decreased complement levels
Wegener’s Granulomatosis
Positive C-ANCA
Goodpasture’s Syndrome
Positive Anti-GBM test
Cryoglobulinemia (2)
Positive cryoglobulin test
May have decreased C3/C4 levels
Membranous Nephropathy (2)
Associated with Hep B and Hep C
FSGS
HIV serologies
Immune-Complex GN
May have decreased C3/C4 levels
ANCA Tests (3)
Positive in Wegeners (C), Microscopic Polyangiitis (P), Pauci-immune RPGN (P)
Atheroembolic Disease
May have decreased C3/C4 levels
Eosinophilia
Multiple Myeloma
Positive for monoclonal antibodies in SPEP or UPEP
Eosinophiluria (3)
Associated with:
Acute allergic interstitial nephritis, atheroembolic disease… or anything with eosinophilia or pyuria
Hep C Antibody (3)
Mixed Cryoglobulinemia, Membranoproliferative GN, Membranous Nephropathy
Hep B Surface Antigen (3)
Membranoproliferative GN, Membranous nephropathy, Polyarteritis nodosa
Light-chain deposition disease
Positive MC Ab in SPEP or UPEP
Low C3/C4 Levels (7)
Post-Strep GN, Endocarditis GN, Immune Complex GN, MP GN, Lupus, Cryoglobulinemia, Atheroembolic Disease
