What are tests done to assess renal functions?
- S Urea or BUN
- S Creatinine
- 24 hr Creatinine Clearence
- Serum Cystatin

How is a “24 Hr Creatinine Clearence” method done? And what are its disadvantages?
Collecting a 24 Hr urine sample, the disadvantages are that it is not very practical as it is hard and vulnerable to mistakes
Whi is testing for proteinuria important for assessment of renal functions?
For early detection of renal failure.
What are the types of proteinuria?
Micro proteinuria and macroproteinuria
What are the values of protein in urine in case of microproteinuria?
Protein: 150 - 500 mg / day
Albumin: 30 - 300 mg / day
What are the values of protein in urine in case of macroproteinuria?
Protein: >50mg / day
Albumin: >300mg / day
