What happened on 30 November 1661, this was written in Jan van Riebeeck’s diary.
There were at lease 5 different groups among the Khoi people. They did not always get along. On this day the chief from Gorachoquas came to the fort (with six head of cattle as a present) to ask Jan van Riebeeck to protect them from the Cochoquas, The Cochoquas bothered the other group, looked through their things and stopped them from moving to the Hout Bay area.
