What are the four approaches in research design?
The four approaches in research design are Ethnography, Case Study, Phenomenology, and Historical Approach.
What is Ethnography?
Ethnography aims to describe and interpret the behavior of different kinds of people, cultures, or populations.
Example: Studying the behavior of students in a classroom.
What is a Case Study?
A Case Study provides a deeper and more specific analysis of a certain situation, group, or individual, using multiple data gathering procedures.
Case studies can be challenging for first-time researchers.
What is Phenomenology?
Phenomenology studies the experiences of people to understand how individuals or groups react to certain phenomena.
Example: Studying teenagers’ experiences with bullying.
What is the Historical Approach?
The Historical Approach involves the systematic collection and evaluation of past information, such as documents, stories, and artifacts.
Example: Analyzing the 1986 EDSA Revolution or World War II.
